Palaro 2010 texting services launched in Tarlac

CAPITOL HILL, Tarlac City, Feb. 3 — The provincial government of Tarlac, together with the Department of Education (DepEd) provincial office and telecommunications giant Smart Communications, Inc. launched the Palarong Pambansa” texting service info-board on Feb. 2.

The Palaro info-board is a text-based, free-of-charge text broadcast system that will be used in updating the citizenry about the schedules, news, games result, trivia and any information related to the 2010 Palarong Pambansa that set to be held in the province on April 11-17.

All updates and information that a Smart subscriber would receive during the duration of this texting service are for free.

All those who would like to receive information about the 2010 Tarlac Palarong Pambansa can register for free by just typing PALARO (space) REG (space) NAME (slash) AREA (slash) AGE then send to 71708752 (PALARO REG VIC/R3/43). Area means the Region where you belong.

A message coming from Palaro 2010 will ask a subscriber to type PALARO (space) PUSH (space) ON and send 71708752 (PALARO PUSH ON).

Upon registering successfully, you can now ask any question that pertains to the Palaro 2010 by sending your message PALARO (space) FEEDBACK (space) MESSAGE to 7000-TRLC (8752).

The aim of the texting services is to provide information and involve all smart subscribers to the upcoming Palarong Pambansa.

The provincial government likewise opened four social networking site accounts for the Palarong Pambansa.

These are Face Book, Friendster, Twitter and Multiply.

For those who have Face Book and Friendster accounts search and for those who have Twitter and Multiply accounts, search ppambansatarlac.

Governor Victor Yap, for his part, thanked Smart for the services it has provided for the Palarong Pambansa.

Yap also urged all Smart subscribers to register and be involved in the biggest sports spectacle in the country. (PNA)
